Family and society impinge on the selection of curriculum goals. If the school is to provide a system to enable the student to become an "independent" member of the community, then the curriculum must match the "criterion of ultimate functioning" within the community. Parental and community expectations must be addressed.
Singer and Erber, et al., 1985
The educational community at P226M is dedicated to enabling each student to fulfill his or her potential. We believe that each member of our staff is a valuable contributor in developing a professional collaboration to benefit every pupil. Administrative support facilitates staff training and enables instructional staff to assess, plan, and teach, using an individualized approach. Our school has a history of pioneering new ideas and programs. We extend this reputation by integrating the best new practices into our direct instruction. P226M strives to address the needs of our children and their families as they progress through our school from early childhood to their young adult years.
