Welcome to 15th Street
About 15th Street:
Our 15th Street site is the culmination of many students' P226M career. The emphasis on development of academic skills continues throughout the program as we intensify the experiences our students have in the community. Time is spent at job sites, preparing the students for transition into the world of work. Students continue developing self-care and functional skills through our Culinary Arts and Industrial Arts programs. Technology education continues as the students complete projects ranging from resumes to creating their own movies. APE, Visual Arts, OT, PT, Speech and Counseling are available at this site.
Our 15th street site services students who range from 13-21 years old, in 12:1:1 middle school and 6:1:1 and 8:1:1 high school class settings. The program is designed to maximize lifelong opportunities of its graduates and has joined with the High School for Health Professionals and Human Services and the Institute for Collaborative Education allowing for some innovative adolescent programs. This unit encompasses functional academics, life skills and preparation for transition and the world of work. The community plays an important role in our transition-level curriculum, as students learn to utilize neighborhood resources, participate in job skill training, navigate city streets, and ride public transportation.
